Advanced Instrumented Vestibular Assessment
VertiGO Physio and Rehab is one of the only clinics in Southeast Queensland using comprehensive instrumented vestibular testing. This equipment provides medical referrers and clients with objective, quantifiable information that extends beyond a conventional bedside vestibular physiotherapy assessment.
While bedside assessment relies primarily on clinical observation of eye movements, balance and responses to head and positional movements, VNG and vHIT objectively record and measure vestibular and ocular responses.
This can assist in identifying subtle vestibular abnormalities, characterising vestibular dysfunction and providing a more comprehensive assessment alongside the patient’s clinical presentation. Objective findings can also help inform targeted vestibular rehabilitation and provide measurable data for ongoing monitoring and communication with the referring practitioner.
Referrals are not required to facilitate appointments.
Where requested by a medical practitioner, patients may be eligible to access a Medicare rebate for the appropriate diagnostic vestibular investigation, provided the relevant Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) criteria and claiming requirements are met. A Medicare rebate is not guaranteed by a referral alone.
